Who We Support
WMF supports Wisconsin residents who have an abortion (either in or outside of Wisconsin) and people from neighboring states who have an abortion at a Wisconsin clinic.
WMF supported over 1500 people in 2021 with an average of $250 each. In the first three month of 2022, WMF has supported almost 500 Wisconsin residents.
Remember, you’re not alone! Everyone loves someone who has had an abortion, whether they know it or not.

Fund Abortion
No matter your zip code or income, every person deserves access to the health care they need. Due to extreme anti-abortion legislation and social and economic inequities, abortion access in Wisconsin is very restricted. WMF Wisconsin works to fill the gaps in abortion access by providing financial assistance to Wisconsin residents who need an abortion but cannot afford the full cost. Please donate by credit card or check:
WMF Wisconsin funding comes from generous individual donors, foundation grants and events.
An abortion in Wisconsin can cost a minimum of $650, including a mandatory counseling appointment at least 24 hours prior to when the abortion is performed.
In 2021, WMF funded over 1,500 people with an average of $250. Already in the first three months of 2022, WMF has supported almost 500 Wisconsin residents in paying for abortion care. Some patients need as little as $20 to $50 to complete their funding; others need much more.
Build Power
Everyone loves someone who had an abortion.
WMF Wisconsin aims to shift the culture around abortion from stigma, isolation, and shame to love, community, and compassion. We know that the right to choose is not enough if people do not have access to that choice. We know that abortion access is one vital component of reproductive justice, so we are mobilizing folks on the ground to create the future we deserve.
Abortion Funds are love. Women’s Medical Fund aims to shift the culture around abortion from stigma, isolation, and shame to love, community, and compassion. We know that the right to choose is not enough if people do not have access to that choice. We know that abortion access is one vital component of reproductive justice, racial justice, economic justice and gender justice.
We believe in solidarity. As a fund, we are engaged in building community power to end the oppressions that create the need for abortion funding in the first place. Building power and community organizing means looking to the power of the people to dismantle barriers to abortions and developing and following the leadership of those we serve. That is why it is so important that you join with us, not only funding abortion but also building power to change policy and culture.
We fund abortions AND we are building an activist community. We are a space for building real relationships and becoming transformed by them.
We fight for a world where abortion access is a reality for everyone, no matter your income or zip code. Our movement’s rallying cry is, “Fund Abortion, Build Power!

Our Values
Our Values
WMF Wisconsin is a proud member of the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF). NNAF builds power with members to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access by centering people who have abortions and organizing at the intersections of racial, economic, and reproductive justice. The core values of our network are Intersectionality, Autonomy, Collective Power and Compassion.
The core values of our Network are:
Intersectionality
We recognize the connections between systems of oppression. A comprehensive vision of justice for our communities must involve working towards economic, racial, gender, and reproductive justice.
Autonomy
Every person has the non-negotiable human right to determine whether, when, and how to create family. People deserve unrestricted access to the rights, information, and resources to care for themselves and their families.
Collective Power
We are determined to build a base of shared power from the ground while standing alongside other movements in solidarity. People who are most directly and disproportionately impacted by structural barriers are the best architects of solutions that center their voices, experiences, and leadership.
Compassion
We advocate for a reduction of shame and an increase in compassion for people as they navigate life. Reproductive coercion, burdens, and barriers to reproductive healthcare are all forms of violence.
