Our Vision
We believe that reproductive autonomy and healthcare without stigma are essential to thriving, sustainable communities.
Our Mission
Wisconsin Abortion Fund (WAF) is a grassroots organization providing funding and logistical support to ensure abortion access for all Wisconsinites. WAF organizes our community to build awareness, reduce stigma, and support reproductive autonomy for all pregnant people.
Our Values
Autonomy
The medical decisions a person makes about their pregnancy, including decisions about terminating a pregnancy, must be made by the person who is pregnant. We affirm the right of every person to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.
Accessibility
Any person who needs an abortion should be able to obtain care without facing financial burden, criminal prosecution, or harassment. We envision a Wisconsin in which abortion is accessible in every county, city, and village regardless of ability, class, age, gender, sexuality, race, or religion. WAF envisions a Wisconsin that removes obstacles and centers equitable, unrestricted access to information, resources, and abortion.
Dignity
All pregnancies are worthy of dignity and privacy, including when making the decision to terminate a pregnancy. We honor that we do not need to know why someone is seeking funding from the Wisconsin Abortion Fund, only that they are reaching out for support. We are committed to confidentiality.
Trust
Trust is the foundation on which every community is built. We trust that pregnant people will make the right decisions for them, their bodies, and their families. We trust in the ability of our community to come together to defend and fund abortion access, and we trust in the people who are utilizing the fund to unapologetically ask us for what they need when they need it.
Liberation
Dismantling barriers of oppression is essential for ensuring access to abortion care, allowing individuals the space to navigate their health on their own terms. Liberty embodies the audacity to pursue one’s true and authentic self, enabling people to make decisions that are best for their bodies, their families, and their futures without guilt, judgment, or punishment.
Interconnectedness
To be truly interconnected is to know that our freedom is inextricably linked to the freedom of all other oppressed peoples. To be an abortion advocate is to be connected to vast lineages of activists and advocates who fought for and continue to fight for our freedom.
Support Abortion Access
Giving even a small amount has a meaningful impact by making abortion affordable, including covering the cost of things like childcare, transportation, and lodging. Your contribution means self-determination, healthcare, and dignity for Wisconsinites who need abortions.
