Meet Our Staff
Ali Muldrow

Ali Muldrow is an award winning activist, educator, and organizer. In 2019 Ali was elected to the School Board and she is currently serving her second term on the Madison Metropolitan School District’s Board of Education. She is a skilled storyteller, and published poet. Ali is married to a middle school teacher and together they are the proud parents of three daughters. Ali’s commitment to abortion access started as commitment to herself at an early age, and has given her the opportunity to bring an intersectional analysis to her work with WAF. Ali enjoys book clubs, road trips, and all genres of music. She believes firmly that the best part of living in an unjust world is fighting to change it.
Megin McDonell

Megin McDonell has nearly three decades of political and nonprofit management experience, including community organizing and coalition building, grant writing, fundraising, media and communications, program development and implementation, and financial management. Before joining WAF in 2024, Megin was Executive Director at Fair Wisconsin, Wisconsin’s only statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights political advocacy organization, for nearly a decade. She previously worked at the Tenant Resource Center for fourteen years, served for eleven years on the Madison Equal Opportunities Commission, and served as co-founding President of the Social Justice Center Board of Directors and Chair of the NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin Board of Directors. Megin is active in state and local politics and lives in Madison with her spouse and two teenage children.
Eleanor McEntee

Eleanor McEntee loves working at nonprofits and has over twenty years of nonprofit bookkeeping experience. She has volunteered/worked with WAF since 2006! In her spare time, she motorcycles all over Wisconsin which has been her home state for the last twenty years. Being childfree by choice, she has embraced her graying hair and accents her presence with glitter and giggles and will not hesitate to tell silly stories about her cats.

Cynthia Lin

Cynthia has been a WAF board member since 2021 and has been involved in abortion access for about a decade (having worked with the National Network of Abortion Funds and Western States Center). She is a facilitator and strategist who centers curiosity and loves creating processes, spaces, and relationships that make transformation possible. She loves cooking a meal and setting a table to bring loved ones together, playing in woods and water with her partner and kiddo and dogs, and learning to grow food.
Zakiyyah Sorenson

Zakiyyah’s passion is photography and storytelling, specifically, black and white and macro photography. Zakiyyah was originally from Long Island, NY before “settling” in Wisconsin. She is a registered nurse who specialized in sexual and reproductive health care and public health. She currently does community outreach and engagement work within abortion and contraception access research with an approach that emphasizes reproductive and knowledge justice principles as guiding frameworks. Zakiyyah lives in Madison with her husband and sister.
Micaela Berry-Smith

Micaela Berry-Smith is a seasoned leader with over 15 years of experience in birth equity, early childhood education, and social entrepreneurship. She earned her B.S. in Early Childhood Development from Metro State University in St. Paul, MN, and later completed her Doula Training with DONA International in Madison, WI, in 2014. As a Certified Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, trained through the African American Breastfeeding Alliance. Micaela has dedicated her career to advocating for maternal and child health, with a focus on addressing systemic disparities in healthcare.Micaela’s extensive work with children and families across diverse settings has driven her to lead numerous high-impact initiatives, including her role as Co-Executive Director of Harambee Village Doulas and her previous venture as the owner of a nanny service in southwest Wisconsin. Currently, she serves as the Senior Program Manager of Community and Maternal/Child Health Initiatives at The Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness in Madison, WI.Micaela’s commitment to social justice and health equity is evident in her involvement in various committees and boards, including the Black Maternal and Child Health Alliance of Dane County, the Wisconsin Association for Perinatal Care, WI AbortionFund, and the Biden/Harris Reproductive Freedom Tour Committee. She is passionate about advocating for comprehensive healthcare reform and believes in the power of community engagement to drive meaningful change. Her work has been recognized through numerous awards, including the 2019 Madison Magazine Innovator of the Year award.
Maggie Ellison

Maggie Ellison is a new board member of the Wisconsin Abortion Fund, bringing years of experience in nonprofit accounting to the organization. With a strong commitment to advancing women's reproductive rights, Maggie has been an advocate since her teenage years, driven by her passion for empowering individuals to make informed choices about their bodies and ensuring that all people have access to safe and equitable abortion services. Throughout her career, Maggie has focused on aligning her professional skills with her personal values, working with organizations that champion social justice and equity. Maggie is originally from Oregon, and has been in Madison raising her kids with her husband for the past 18 years.
Sarah Elmore

Sarah has been an educator in the Madison Public Schools for the past 23 years. She started her career as a Social Studies teacher. She particularly enjoyed working with 9th graders and teaching the Women’s studies course. For the past 11 years, Sarah has worked as a School Counselor with a focus on college access for students who will be the first in their family to attend college. This is Sarah’s first year as a Wisconsin Abortion Fund board member. She strongly believes that reproductive healthcare needs to include abortion access, regardless of where someone lives or their ability to pay. Sarah lives in Madison with her husband and two teenage sons.
Lucy Marshall

Lucy is a queer Ashkenazi Jewish educator, facilitator, and network weaver based in Minneapolis on Dakota and Anishinaabe land. She is currently the Director of Community Services at Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis. Lucy helped launch our first Fund-A-Thon campaign in 2017 when she lived in Madison. A former board president of WAF, Lucy continues to be passionate about expanding abortion access for all Wisconsinites.

Annie Menzel

Annie Menzel is a scholar of gender, race, and reproduction, a former midwife, and parent. Her research and teaching focuses on understanding how white supremacy, colonization, and gender-based oppression shape human reproductive life, health, and care—as well as movements for reproductive justice, freedom, and livable worlds. Her first book, Fatal Denial: Racism and The Political Life of Black Infant Mortality, was published in May 2024 by the University of California Press, in their Reproductive Justice Series. She is at work on a second book project, Birthing Paradox: Race, Colonization, and Radicalism in US Midwifery, which seeks to understand the contradictions of the homebirth midwifery movement since 1970. She is committed to working for a world where accessible, community-rooted, high-quality, person-centered care is a reality for all humans.

The Wisconsin Abortion Fund (WAF) partners with abortion providers in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois to ensure Wisconsin residents are supported in navigating their options while being empowered to bypass obstacles and barriers on their own terms.
